Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Fencer / Wood working / Builder / Trade person to join
our fencing and retaining wall team, with the opportunity to grow. This role suits someone
with solid fencing experience, leadership potential, and the ability to help train junior staff
while ensuring projects are delivered to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and assist in the installation of timber, rural, and urban fencing, as well as
retaining walls.
2. Read and interpret site plans, set out lines, and oversee accurate construction.
3. Operate and maintain a wide range of tools, power equipment, and machinery.
4. Drive and coordinate site productivity, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
5. Provide hands-on training and mentoring to junior team members.
6. Liaise with clients and supervisors to ensure clear communication and project
delivery.
7. Manage site preparation, stock handling, and equipment transport.
8. Support health and safety compliance and promote safe work practices.
9. Training juniors and managing a labour that would be placed with you as part of your
team.
Requirements
1. Proven experience in fencing and/or retaining wall construction.
2. Minimum of a clean Class 1 full driver’s licence, with ability to confidently drive
manual vehicles.
3. Competence with tractors and machinery operation.
4. Ability and drive to obtain and maintain:
o Site Safe Civil Passport
o First Aid Certificate
o Chainsaw operation course
5. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
6. Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused.
7. Good communication skills and the ability to guide and train others.
8. Willingness to develop leadership skills and grow into a Foreman position.

Job Description – Junior Fencer / Labourer
 

Position Overview


We are seeking a motivated Junior Fencer / Labourer to join our fencing and retaining wall
team. This entry-level role is suited to someone with a strong work ethic who is keen to learn
fencing and construction skills while working outdoors.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assist with the installation of timber, rural, and urban fencing, as well as retaining
walls.
2. Carry and handle materials including posts, rails, and panels.
3. Operate hand tools, basic power tools, and equipment under supervision.
4. Prepare work sites by clearing, digging holes, and assisting with measurements.
5. Safely operate tractors and assist with machinery use as required.
6. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
7. Follow directions from senior fencers and contribute to efficient team operations.
8. Support with loading/unloading equipment and site preparation tasks.
9. Must be comfortable using power tools and operating large equipment.
Requirements
1. Minimum of a clean Class 1 full driver’s licence, with ability to confidently drive
manual vehicles.
2. Physically fit and able to perform manual labour outdoors in varied conditions.
3. Willingness and drive to obtain and maintain the following:

4. Ability to safely operate tractors.
5. Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
